Handling Your First Civil Appeal

I gave a joint presentation with Rocky Dhir as part of the State Bar’s “Handling Your First Civil Appeal” course in Austin.

I spoke about some recent changes to appellate practice (such as, yes, electronic-briefing rules) and how new appellate lawyers can embrace those changes to make themselves more useful within their firm and more effective for clients.

We also discussed how to use online resources and communities to get answers to the sort of questions you aren’t taught in law school (or at most CLEs).
